We are very happy to present you with this new project! A house located in the Born, Barcelona’s famous neighbourhood in the historic centre, designed with the aim of redistributing the spaces to recover their functionality.
At MANUEL TORRES DESIGN, we wanted to enhance the originality but without losing the essence of the classic finishes of Catalan architecture. For this outcome, we kept the wooden beams in sight as well as the ceiling beams, which are typical of that period.
We have also left the brickwork exposed on several walls which, together with the hydraulic style tiles on the floor, are the main protagonists. These help us to maintain this interplay between classic and modern, between past and present. Despite being neutral colours, their pattern gives a strong personality to the whole flat.
To gain amplitude, we have opened up the kitchen and joined it to the dining room, maintaining its prominence with a cherry red that does not go unnoticed.
Next to the kitchen we have the bathroom, where the textured red tiles give it the modern and original style that we want for the whole house.
Finally, the finishes and modern furniture provide a sense of comfort that creates a spacious, bright, functional and fresh space.
