The project of the new establishment in Mexico for the Spanish multinational Mayoral Moda Infantil was requested by the company for the opening of one of its new stores in the Mexican capital.
In its mission to continue growing worldwide, and with an expansion forecast of more than 20 stores in the country, Mayoral has decided to invest in three new locations in Mexico City, locating this new establishment in the Toreo Parque Central shopping center.
The construction of this complete renovation of the store of more than 134m² of usable space has been carried out by Manuel Torres Design in a record time of 5 weeks. Thanks to our turnkey service, we have worked both day and night to meet the deadline.
The main function of this construction work has been to execute the vision and philosophy of Mayoral and adapt it to the aesthetics of this new franchise. For this purpose, the spaces on the chosen premises have been redistributed to suit the parameters of the master project and, ultimately, to the corporate design lines. Likewise, we have complied with the standards of the brand and we have coordinated and managed all legalizations and permits.
Manuel Torres Design has accompanied the client in the construction phase of the premises, offering support and guidance throughout each step of the process: from the opening of the new store and taking care of fundamental parts such as the disassembly and demolition of the previous establishment, to the subsequent lifting of the open-plan state of the premises and the redesign of the spaces. These were specifically provided by Mayoral with a new distribution, so that we could take care of the implementation of the renovation and the management of all the documentation to legalize the work.
In relation to the materials used in the new establishment, we have opted for top quality materials.
In this sense, porcelain floor tiles have been installed, which, unlike normal stoneware, are manufactured in full ceramic mass, making it more resistant and durable, providing a higher quality and allowing us to give that point of durability to the space, fundamental due to the high traffic of a retail project.
Likewise, for the furniture, provided by Mayoral, we have used solid wood furniture, which is more environmentally friendly as it contributes to generate a lower carbon footprint since it is a less processed product.
Regarding the lighting, we have opted for ceiling lights, wall and furniture sconces using indirect and direct light, as well as all light sources using LEDs. All of them with a Kelvin temperature of 2,700 k and 3,000 k, depending on the areas of the store, generating a warmer lighting to provide a pleasant, relaxing and inviting space for shopping.
The most notable feature in terms of lighting is the detail that Mayoral has in all its stores: a cloud in the center of the ceiling. It is a floating ceiling in the shape of a cloud with indirect perimeter lighting. The team of professionals in charge of the design process of the new store, like us in the construction, has based all their decisions on a simple idea: to continue the imaginary of the Mayoral corporation.
Thus, another remarkable element of the work is the use of neutral colors and smooth textures in both the furniture and the civil work, which brings a lot of peace and tranquility at the time of consumption. This enhances the customers’ willingness to stay in the store, enjoy their experience and make a larger purchase. This chromatic range is ideal for a store focused on selling children’s products for babies up to mid-teens (from 0 to 16 years old).
